Comedian Sarah Silverman has been concerned for her safety, ever since the pastor of Stedfast Church in Jacksonville, Florida, preached that he hoped God would break her teeth and kill her.
That’s not what a Christ-Follower should say, especially not a pastor, and especially not on YouTube.
So, I phoned the pastor and calmly left a message telling him to repent, confess to The Lord, and apologize to Ms. Silverman. I also chided him that he’d stained the Name of Jesus.
Something just wasn’t right, so I Google Earthed the address for the church:
The address was to a tiny, run down strip mall in a bad part of town.
The web site has no photos of their building, people, etc.
There are at most ten young people in one photo. Like high school young, maybe college. All their faces are hidden.
In short, it’s apparently a hoax against Ms. Silverman. Not a real congregation. Most likely some kids hoping to go viral. With over 4.5 million views of their video clip, I’d say they were successful.
